Sala de Prova

With Souto de Moura’s design, iconic dishes and local chefs, Time Out Market Porto has already opened in São Bento

Restaurants, chefs and cultural experiences promise to liven up the emblematic São Bento Station, in the heart of the historic centre of Invicta. With 16 venues, Time Out Market opens on 3 May

Under the motto ‘For the real ones, the best of the city’, which aims to be an ode to the people of Porto and Invicta, chefs Ricardo Costa, Rui Paula, Vasco Coelho Santos and Rafaela Louzada, Nuno Castro, Inês Diniz, but also Meia-Nau, Okra Pizzaria, Tábua Rasa, Brusco Burger and Padaria Ribeiro will be present in this space in the south wing of São Bento Station, dedicated to gastronomy and beyond. Covering an area of around 2,000 square metres, the market, designed by Eduardo Souto de Moura, the 2011 Pritzker Prize-winning architect from Porto, includes 12 restaurants, two bars, a tower with two units and an outdoor space.

From 3 May, at 12.30pm, Time Out Market’s opening hour, you can try iconic dishes such as octopus fillets with octopus rice by Inês Diniz, the talented chef of the former Casa Aleixo and Casa Inês, codfish rascal rice with perfect egg by chef Rafa Louzada, of the Gruta restaurant, the suckling pig sandwich by chef Ricardo Costa of Yeaman, the spoon-fed veal with truffled mashed potato and mushrooms by chef Rui Paula, helmsman of the Boa Nova tea house and DOP, or the famous Rabanada by chef Vasco Coelho Santos of Euskalduna Studio, among many others.

The vegetarian restaurant Fava Tonka is also part of the project which, in addition to gastronomy, also focuses on wines and objects of national origin, with the Sala de Prova and A Vida Portuguesa.
